Reschenthaler Champions $61 Million in Community Project Funding for Southwest Pennsylvania

Chief Deputy Whip Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA) has successfully secured $61 million in community project funding for Southwest Pennsylvania through the passage of H.R. 4366, the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2024. President Joe Biden signed the legislation into law on March 9, 2024.

“I’m proud to announce that my efforts have secured $61 million in community project funding for southwestern Pennsylvania through our appropriations process,” Reschenthaler said. “This funding will support workforce development programs, library improvements, law enforcement and fire department funding, locks and dams funding, sewer and waterline infrastructure, and economic development. Simply put — this is a huge win for our district.”

Reschenthaler’s $61 million in projects has placed him in the top 15 of all members of the U.S. House of Representatives.

The projects secured include $5,000,000 for Greene County Library Improvements, $680,000 for Waynesburg Workforce Development Program, $1,000,000 for Indiana Medical Facility Construction, $150,000 for Indiana University Osteopathic School of Medicine, $150,000 for New Stanton Fire Station Construction, $300,000 for Wellersburg Community Center Modifications Project, and $137,000 for Children's Aid Home Renovation Facility Project in the Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies category.

In the Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies sector, $38,000 was allocated for a Borough of Scottdale, Pennsylvania, Police Department Records Management System project.

Under Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies, $41 million was designated for the Army Corps of Engineers Construction Locks and Dams 2, 3, 4, Monongahela River.

In the Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies category, funding included $1.99 million for New Stanton, Pennsylvania for the Drinking Water Infrastructure Project, $2.19 million for Monongahela, Pennsylvania for the Sewer Extension Project, $1.5 million for Markleysburg, Pennsylvania for the Water Storage Tank and Pump Station Construction Project, and $275,637 for Champion, Pennsylvania for the Waterline Replacement Project.

Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies saw $6 million allocated to the City of Washington, Pennsylvania for the City of Washington Roadway Project, and $500,000 to the Fay-Penn Economic Development Council for the Water Street Redevelopment Project.
