Chief Deputy Whip Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA) has introduced legislation to rename the Washington Dulles International Airport in Virginia as the Donald J. Trump International Airport. Speaking on the bill, Reschenthaler expressed his admiration for the 45th president, stating, "In my lifetime, our nation has never been greater than under the leadership of President Donald J. Trump." He further emphasized the significance of the renaming, noting that it would symbolize "freedom, prosperity, and strength" for travelers landing on American soil.
Reschenthaler is joined in this initiative by several fellow Congressmen, including Chuck Fleischmann (R-TN), Paul Gosar, D.D.S. (R-AZ), Troy Nehls (R-TX), Andy Ogles (R-TN), Barry Moore (R-AL), and Mike Waltz (R-FL).
The proposed renaming of the airport is part of a broader effort to honor President Trump's achievements during his tenure. Among the notable accomplishments highlighted are the economic successes under his administration, including record-low unemployment rates, increased household incomes, and historic lows in poverty rates for minority communities.
